wasr 10 vs. sar 1, also a good cheap sniper rifle
I was wanting to know how much of a difference there is between the wasr 10 and the sar 1, because i am going to buy one soon. Also any help on a good, acurate and fairly cheap rifle and a scope I can buy.

Well the wasr-10 is accurate up to 100 yards it gets about a 4inch group not sure on the SAR-1 I haven't really grouped it since I put the new trigger group in.
You could kill a deer at 200 with the wasr-10 but more likely you would shoot under over and around him, it has about a 3foot spread at that range.
edit: the thing with the SAR-1 is trigger slap, when you fire a round the bad smithing on the hammers makes the trigger smack your finger and it hurts, the only way to fix it is to either grind a part of the hammer off "part that is not needed in semi auto ak's" or buy a new trigger group for around 50-150 bucks which comes with a new hammer.
edit: also sometimes SAR-1's have canted sights,that need to be fixed.
There are hight cap wasr-10's out there but you better make sure its legal before you buy it. They have to have so many US parts to be hight cap.0 -

I have a Sar1 and soon will buy a WASR10 hicap. Sighting in my SAR1 at 25 yards, I was consistantly able to hold touching 3rd groups. IMHO, my SAR1 shot just as well as my AR. I had some custom work including a trigger job done to my Sar1 and have to admit it shoots pretty even nicer now.

Long of the short, get the one that is least expensive, you can always modify it later to your tastes.

Ya moding ak's is really easy, trigger groups are easy to change yourself on most models and furniture is a snap. 0
