    I have inherited a S/42 1939 Luger numbers matching and an extra clip, condition is very good. has as 3 digit serial # what kinda value I am looking at??

    Lugers are a religion all their own. Your Friends pistol was made in 1939 by Mauserwerk.

    So many factors come into play that you really need to have someone qualified actually examine it.

    There are many nuances that, if you are not familiar with them, can escape a general gun person.

    Other than the year the receiver and the maker, nothing else can be determined from the description.

    Even though the serial numbers might look matching, a loupe would be used to determine if they are from the same era. Is the firing pin the same number? Each and every part must be examined for correctness.

    Any old shooter is worth $450 or so... With all the recent East German imports, it really needs a hands on look.

    Men have passed on...knowledge...yet in politcs, statecraft, and social relationships we continue to repeat old mistakes.
