The Largo ammo refers to 9x23 Bergmann-Bayard. Used in the Astras , Star Modellos and many others. There have been other rounds refered to as the 9mm Largo butthe one I assume you are refering to is the B-B cartridge. Which gun would you be using it in? That would likely clear up the question.

For several years now, there's also been the 9x23 Winchester, which is essentially arimless .38 Super, altho it'sloaded to considerably higher velocities and energy levels than is the Super.

I have the Star Modelo Super. I have been shooting 9mm Largo (Spanish military surplus) out of it. I've only shot about twenty rounds out of the gun.

I have been under the assumption that 9mm Largo ammunition was 9x23, but today I was looking through a catalog that sells Sellier & Bellot ammo, and they have some ammo listed as 9mm Largo, 9x21. Which is it?

There is a 9 x 21mm cartridge, it was developed in Italy as a "loophole" cartridge to get around the prohibition of common folk owning handguns chambered for military cartridges. A number of European ammo manufacturers load it.

There was either a misprint in the catalog where they didn't make clear that S & B loaded ammo for both the 9mm Largo and 9 x 21. Or perhaps you didn't interpret it correctly? As the overall length of the 9 x 21 cartridge is virtually the same as the 9mm Luger it probably wouldn't function correctlly in pistols chambered for the 9mm Largo.

There is also the 9x21 IMI (Israeli).

9x23 Winchester has a much stronger loading that Largo, they are not interchangeable. (like .38 ACP vs. .38 Super, or 9mm Luger vs. 9mm Glisanti)
