    when you put the bolt back in, did you have the barrel pointed at about 45 degrees up, and the trigger pulled back? i thought mine was all screwed up one day and it turned out the hammer strut was in the wrong position, and i didn't reset the hammer when i put it back together. before you do too much to it, i would try taking it apart and putting it back together a few times to see if you missed anything. sometimes the simplest solution is doing it over again. i wish you the best of luck, cody

    Ok tried that not sure about the hammer reset part but i tilted the barrel up and pulled the trigger back still does not seem to work right.

    reassembling the ruger is tricky. The hammer strut gets caught behind that little pin that goes crosswise thru the frame, right at the end of the strut. When you reassemble, the hammer has to be in the "down" or fired position. If it's not, then the strut can't be positioned properly on top of the Jackknife shaped Mainspring housing. I always check to make sure of this, before pivoting the mainspring housing on into the frame.
