From what I gather reading the ATF web site a nonlicensee may ship a handgun to a holder of a FFL license in any state. Am

You know I thought it had to be shipped over night air. This was my first online purchase, the guy has a lot of great feedback. And I just figured he knew what he was doing, so i didnt say anything. But then i knew something was up when i checked the tracking number and realized that it wasnt moving. I hope he can clear this up quickly.

But, being this is a .44 Magnum, the most powerful handgun in the world, and would blow your head clean off, you've got to ask yourself one question: "Do I feel lucky?" Well, do ya punk?0 -
So what happens if the guy tries to ship it ground? They dont confinscate it or anything do they? 0 -

If it gets "lost" or stolen in transit they don't have to honor any insurance claim as the dealer was violating their regulations by shipping it by ground rather then overnight.
Chances are if he is dumb enought to send it by ground, he probably didn't insure it anyway.

Or, it may just not be logged into the tracking system. UPS doesn't scan newly received packages until near midnight at their terminals.
In any case, UPS Next Day Air doesn't always mean "next day", or even "air". It definitely doesn't mean weekend days, except at extra cost. If you are a lawyer, you should be able to find it in their "tariff".

If he is an ffl dealer he can send it to your ffl dealer via USPS for about $20.00 insured and it will be safer anyway.

UPS, depending on the location will ship other than next day air. You need to ask. They will ship air but on a longer time table and the cost is adjusted accordingly. At lease I was able to do it. 0 -
I have found out that U.P.S. means; Unrealible Poor Service. 0
