Another question on size
I like the glock 19, and that is probably my number 1 choice for a gun, but I hear a lot of people recommending the larger guns. I really want the gun for the range, I would have it as self-defense but I doubt I would really use it, just know I had it. But I am really more curious as to how much more expensive would a larger caliber ammo cost and is it a lot more recoil with the larger caliber?

The G19 should satisfy you. Ammunition is cheaper than the larger sizes and there's plenty of variety. With a high cap magazine and hollow point
ammo the G19 is a formidable weapon for self defense.0 -
agreed. if i had to pick an auto for a do-it-all gun, (which i probly wouldnt[8D]), a mid sized 9 would fit the bill pretty well. the 19 is big enough you can enjoy it at the range, and still compact you can carry it fairly comfortable most of the time. im not a huge glock fan, but i have a 17 and have no complaints really

The 19 is a very good hand gun. The 23 in 40S&W and the 32 in #%&sig are the same size hand gun as the 19. The 40 and the 357sig are more powerful than the 9mm. This does not mean they are better. You will do very well with a Glock 19. My 2 cents [8D]

Don't overlook the fact that a couple of outfits make .22lr conversion Units for the Glock9mm. 0
