Winchester model 52 Serial #12

I have a Winchester 52 that was my grandfather's brothers.I think he got it while stationed at Camp Perry Around 1920.It has a scope with external adjustments, I think Winchester. About 90-95% of blue is there. Has a cheek piece and some type of bracket on bottom of stock near front. Bore is clean and the gun functions great.I do not have the gun available for me to look at right now, but I think there is a patent date of Nov 19,1919. Any information would be apreciated. I am curious of it's value but not interested in selling. Thanks Marty

    The value will depend on the amount of original finish remaining and what, if any, modifications were made to the rifle. That low serial number would make it very desireable to a collector of model 52's. This would make it more valuable than a similar gun from later pre-A production. The scope could be a Winchester A5 or Lyman 5A, which are the same scope. If so, it could be worth $500 or so.

    The model 52 in that time period would be a slow lock. The fast locks were coming along around 1929. Value wise it would be a $500 ish rifle, roughly, depending on alot of stuff. Not to mention the serial #. Should bring it up.
