I saw a USED American Arms 12 Ga. O/U, for $425.00. A couple of questions....

1. How good are those guns? I can't afford a Ruger, Browning, etc. It felt like a well put together gun (no wobble in the hinge, good metal-to-wood fit, but I don't know anyone who ever owned one.

2. If the gun is good, is $425.00 a fair price?

    i have a AA PK22 with an 8rd magazine and a CX22 also is shown with an 8rd magazine but the foot piece or bottom is shaped a little different ...both have the finger extension but the PK bottom piece is smooth sided and the CX is hollow sided..both have the bottom rear latch...any idea if the Cx would fit the PK...other AA in 22lr have 7rd different shaped no fit ....THANX

    Save up for a used beretta or browning. You will be much happier...American Arms is no longer in business and their O/U shotguns were spanish made. I will assume that the gun in question is a field grade Silver or Silver II. If the gun is almost LN and a Silver II that price would be OK its to high for the regular Silver model...Like I said at the start save your money

    Actually, some of the American Arms O/U's were Italian made. A local pawn shop has one for sale for $595. It's a Silver II in 20ga. I was eyeballing it for a month or so, but saved a little more money and bought a Beretta Whitewing. Besides, $595 was way too much. The gun is new in box, but this buy has had it on his shelf for three years and hasn't sold it yet. I thought about offering $400 and see if he wants to get rid of it for that since it's been there for so long.

    Friend of mine had the Italian version. They were about $700 to $750 new 10 or 12 years ago. He shot his a lot and seemed happy enough with it but always wished for a Browning or other. If it fits you well and you accept it will never be a "classic" or a Browning, Beretta, Ruger, then it is a good buy. Replacement chokes might be problematic since I don't know what thread pattern they used, but usually it was common with someone else's. You might look at the Russian Baikal, just for something that is in the same price range. I'm referring to the sporting clays model.
