Remington Nylons
All my 10/22 buddies make fun of me for my 'toy' collection of Remington Nylon .22 rifles. Right now I have a 66 in Apache Black(paid $100CDN), a 10C in Mohawk Brown($100CDN w/5 10shot mags), a Nylon 10 single shot(freebie), and a Nylon 76 lever in Mohawk Brown(also a freebie). I've never had a jam or mis-fire with any of these and all are very accurate. Anyone have an opinion on these fine little 'toys'?

I have a 66 Auto. bought it about 20 years ago and will Never part with it, It's Acc. and I have never had any jams. I LOVE IT. 0 -
Let them laugh, your "toys" are lighter, looks better and will probaly shoot better then theirs.
Not to mention that they are worth more.
You sir have a fine group of nylon.

pound for pound & dollar for dollar the 66 was the far better 22 than the Ruger 10-22, out of the box they were more accurate, held more shots, were lighter and could stand up to more abuse....the nylon 66 was just one great 22.....we killed more critters & had more fun with that 66 than I can remember....10-22 VS nylon 66 "NO CONTEST" tell your pals that.......... Thanks for scanning the article, ATF. I think I have the same or similar article in an older Gun Digest book in the reloading room. That article is the only one I've seen with the most information on Nylons(8-10 pages of data,production #'s, etc). Thanks again. 0 -
there was a nylon 66 at the gun shop for 25 dollars a couple months ago, and i had only brought enough money for my transfer. i went back 2 days later and it was gone. somebody kick my ass! cody

I bought my first "66" a couple of months ago at a Pawn Shop.Never really thought much of them(good or bad),but I figured for $60,WTH,(and I didn't have one.)It's seen better days cosmeticely(sp),but shoots just fine.[^]Saw one at the gun show yesterday in black,98%,for $225.Ya don't see too many stock 10/22's bring that.

I just bought a 10c at the gun show last week (my first nylon)it feeds fine if I load the clip with only five rounds but it won't feed from the mag without tilting it forward from the bottom forcefully. Is it the mag or the gun?

rrfhunter: I personally don't use my 10C a whole bunch not for any other reason than that I prefer the 66 with the tube mag. Out of the 5 mags I have for my 10C I only ever had feeding problems with one of them. A little manipulation and polishing of the steel lips at the top of the plastic mag(trial+error) and it fed fine as well. Although I've never tried it with the 10C, I do know that the 66's are very handy to shoot single-shot. With the action closed and the rifle slightly tilted to the left, place a live round so that it lays into the ejection port. One quick snap to cock the action and the live round drops into the receiver and feeds flawlessly into the chamber, ready to fire. It's a quick and simple way to get off one shot when you need to without having to load through the tube mag. 0
