Ithaca Model 500
I have an Ithaca 20GA my mom gave me,she said it was bought new about the time I was born and I'm almost 37. I was wondering if anyone had any info' on it. The exact markings are;

Ithaca gun Co.,INC.,Ithaca, N.Y. Made in Japan-roto forged
On the other side of the barrel, it says custom crafted for Ithaca by SKB.This gun is a bouble barrel,over-under, with designs in the metal and in very good condition. Any info would be helpful, but my mother and I are both curious as to the value.One last thing, I've been around gun's since age 17 and I don't understand 3 chamber tested,I've never heard of it.

I'm trying to find all the information I can on a Ithaca-SKB model 500 20ga. I have been to both Ithaca's & SKB's web sites but could not locate any information on it. Do you have any suggestions? 0 -

Model 500 was imported between 1966-1979.12,20,28,.410, over/under, 26",28",30" vent rib barrels, Blued with Walnut stock. Excellent condition $400-475.
I've had very good luck with SKB's (505 & 585). Bobski told me that they have weak ejectors and firing pins, so don't dry fire without snap caps. I've never had a problem, but I don't dry fire.

My book says SKB Arms Company, is located in Tokyo Japan. They have been in business since 1855. Currently they are referrred to as: "The New SKB Arms Co." they went through an ownership change. Ithica did import various Md 500 and Md 600 series guns, starting in 1966 through 1979. relax Bobski you are right, they are from Japan! LOL Regards Dave 0 -
i know, i just wanted to see if duckhunter would fess up to a mistake...which i watch for with baited breath. got em. man, im sure glad skb is in tokyo. if it wasnt, that means the factory rep that took me thru the factory wasnt a factory rep and all the guns i saw were cardboard props or something! ahh, the good ole days in the military. i sure miss it! skeet shooting was more prestigious than golf and came in close to baseball! you had to be a club member and your gun had to be kept at the range. the rep would bring 20 or 30 every week peddling them to sailors. my 685 was custom made to my specs. got it dirt cheap too. i got to pick the block of wood! i'd like to see hugulu or some turkish co. do that. 0
