WHAT IS THIS THING? NEED SOME HELP

    My WAG is that it was originally rifled. Your description of the stock, SEEMS to bare this out.

    Some European countries have/had restrictions on "RIFLED" long guns, whereas if their smooth bores their legal to own, without any problems.

    I don't know if Denmark was one of those countries?

    Just had a thought, the barrel MIGHT be rifled with "Metford" type rifling,i.e. the lands and groves are very shallow, they are machined/cut as segments of a circle, instead of conventional rifling. Without serious study the barrel appears to be smooth bored.
