No real amswer, but I would try larger patches on a 17 cal cleaning rod. Worn 22 cal brushes shouldn't be too much oversize.

It ain't what you shoot, it's what you hit.

Yes, use a 17cal rod and used 22 cal brush, or a 22 cal boresnake should do the job as well.

If you only have time to do two things so-so, or one thing well ... do the one thing!

ContenderMan: As tight as a 22 bore snake pulls through a normal 22, do you think it would pull through the 204? I was thinking of trying a 17 cal. bore snake with a patch wrapped around the brush end. What do you think?

FYI - I received an email from MidwayUsa today. they now have the Contender barrels in 204 Ruger. They are 1 in 12 twist 14" long.

Thanks for your response. You also snowtigger!

NO, I'M NOT EXPRESSING ANGER! I TYPE WITH CAPS BECAUSE I ONLY HAVE THE USE OF ONE HAND!

Try Boretech.com A .17 rod will work, but it may be somewhat "whimmpy" They have the rods, jags, brushes, etc.
    Nice quality equipment.
