    if the reciever is aluminum, it cannot be blued. i have an ITHACA MODEL 49 .22 single shot rifle that also has an aluminum reciever. i used a high gloss engine block paint in its rebuild / refinish.

    you can have the BBL blued, and paint the reciever yourself. many .22 rimfire rifles, especialy the semi-autos have aluminum recievers. god luck, post pics. best regards, mike.

    Up here in Canada, we usually have alloy receivers black-chromed or Teflon coated. I don't know what the industry standard is on this but it works well on my own guns. I have yet to try anodizing so I can't comment on that, but I have also had the receiver on a freebie over-under 12ga nickel-plated. It provided a nice contrast to the blued barrels.
