Texas Class 3 Info Needed !
Good day ALL,
I'm moving to Texas from the State of Kalifornia. Can someone please tell me what County in Texas that allows Joe blow such as myself to own a legal full auto SMG?
Also, Can you point me in the right direction for any Texas Class 3 law books or internet web-sites that has good 411 on this subject.
Thanks in advance.

Welcome to the forum. Texas is a gun friendly state for machine guns. All federal laws apply. You will be OK. You will need to get ahold of BATF and file a form to transfer your weapon. Only question I have to you is how are you in possession of a full auto in Kalifornia? 0 -

I don't have any full auto,I do plan on buying once I settle in Texas. Kalifornia will be like New York City soon, only the criminals can carry.0 -
Texas as a whole is class 3 friendly.
But, Dallas, Houston, Galveston, and possibly Austin citites wont sign off on the CLEO required signature. Unless you are in the "Elite".
Besides I doubt that you would want to live in the city limits of either of these towns.
Otherwise your pretty much good to go.
Just check with a local class3 dlr before commiting to a new residenance.
Congrats on leaving Calif. Left there myself back in 1979.

Last time I chatted with Sheriff Terry Box of Collin county (just north of Dallas County), he was no longer signing any more class 3 papers. Said if someone didn't like it to take him to court--he was there every week anyway.
For whatever that's worth,
