just my opinion: im fond of the springfield Govt 2nd generation scopes. they are very well made and are still priced with in reason!!! it all depends on your budget, type of shouting and caliber of your firearm. its very confusing out there, when it comes to scopes!!! if you are confident in your local dealer, have them advise you!!!!

the burris signature line has some very nice hunting reticles for $350-$500. Of course,..nightforce has superb reticles with illumination intensity control,..but I would guess you didn't wish to spend that much.

why chase the game when the bullet can get em from here?....
    Got Balistics?

I shot a illuminated Thompson Center on a Contender. It had a beautiful picture.

I have a Leupold 1.5x5 Vari-X III illuminated reticle on a 375 H&H and I REALLY like it. I haven't looked at any others but this one is great. I have always thought Leupolds to be exceptional scopes and this one is no exception.

He asked who made the BEST. Thats easy......nightforce.

Everyone has a photographic memory. Only some have film.

I have a Trijicon scope. Its an older unit with three tritium colors, plus a fiber-optic pickup. The crosshairs are fine enough to split a lamp pole at over 1000 yards! I honestly consider it to be much better than a Gen-1 night scope.
