resource for unusual .22's?

I am looking for a reference source for unusual .22's. They are old and I have no idea what they are. Can anyone help?

    Hi and welcome to the forum.

    There is a tremendous amount of experience availabe to you, but to best utilize it you have to help us help you.

    Unlike a "shop" you can't just walk in and say "do you know what this is", because without pictures we can't see "this" nor can we physically examine it.

    Ideally you need to provide photos (digital images) of the piece or pieces you would like help with. Those pix need to be of the best possible quality showing as much detail possible from different angles. Then there is the narrative description of any and all markings on the gun.

    If you are able to make the digital images, but are unable to post them, simply click on the mail icon on the bar above this response and drop me a mssg. and I will provide you with my direct email address so you can sent the image files to me as standard email attachments, and I will post them on the forum for you.

    Members here have identified guns dating back to the 16th Century, so I'd be suprised if you had one that, with adequate info., couldn't be identified.

    You havn't made it clear if the .22's are rifles or handguns?

    I am certain resources here could help you, but you need to explain what these .22s are in detail. For example, rimfire, centerfire, headstamp, lead, FMJ bullet, case length, OAL length etc. How do you know they are old, since old is a relative term? They could be recent vintage experimental.

    As others noted, you haven't given us anywhere near enough data . . . just for starts, are you talking ammo or firearms? Basically you are holding something up in a dark room and asking "what is this?"

    They are .22 long rifle and are rifles. they appear to be around 100 years old. I will try to get some pictures to post. thanks to all
