S&W Hand Ejectors
I'm trying to narrow down when two of my Smiths were made.
1. S&W Second Model, .44 Spl. with 6 1/2" barrel, S/N 175XX. Grips are original and the finish can only be described as awesome. If it's a reblue, the doer is an artist. All of the lettering is very crisp, I would say the blue is 98%.
2. S&W, I-Frame, .32 S&W Long, 4" barrel, S/N is 1017XX.

1910 for the 32 and about 1916 for the 44 0 -
The 2nd Model .44 HE series began at about S/N 15376 in 1915, so it might be safe to guess that yours left Springfield in maybe 1916. The only way to know for sure would be to obtain a factory letter from S&W's official historian, Roy Jinks. You can call S&W at 800-331-0852 for details on obtaining the letter.
The full model name for your .32 would be the Model of 1903, 4th Change. The 4th Change was only produced during the year 1910 with barrel lengths of 3-1/4 and 4-1/4 inches.
