Frontier Four Derringer date/value?
I recently inherited an old Frontier Four Derringer. It is the funniest little gun I have ever seen. It has four barrels that can shoot either .22lr or .22short and a firing pin that revolves to the next barrel each time you cock the hammer. It was made by HJS Industries Inc. out of Brownsville Texas. It is in excellent condition. I got it still in the original box complete with leather pocket holster and wooden ejector rod. The serial number is SG 013. I hope someone here can tell me when it was made and what it is worth. Anything you can tell me about it is very much appreciated.

There are 2 manufacturers listed for this gun. HJS Arms is the current manufacturer and has quite a bit more value than it's predecessor, H.J.S. Industries. I wouldhave to assume that the company went under and reorganised at a later date using roughly the same tooling and processes...maybe even the same facility as this is not uncommon in the world of firearms. The value given for yours in near 100% condition is $115. You might add a very small premium for the box and accessories but I think it would amount to no more than about $30. I believe these guns to have been made in the 70's and 80's, but am not sure. HJS Arms is shown as being still in business starting in '93 and the equivalent gun they offer is going for about $175. Hope this helps a little..
