AR manufacturers what are the good and the bad?
First off are any of the following good.
counting the good votes to a manufacturer and bad, from your posts.
Cavalry Arms =g
Vulcan Arms = b
Olympic Arms = gggg
DPMS = gg
Rock River Arms= gg "Looks pretty pricey"
And I do already know Bushmaster is good. I am looking for something a little more price friendy.

I've had good luck over the years with DPMS and Olympic but cannot say that I've had experience with the other 2. I live in North central Illinois and I figure the drive to Geneseo would likely be a good choice for getting a "real" AR (HA!HA!...that will draw some comments!)...Armelite and Fairchild started it all. Granted, the Armelite that exists now is not directly related to the Armelite of old but they do own the trademark! Every one I've shot was a really nice rifle! This is a pretty wide open topic and there are LOTS of AR makers out there so I feel it's like wading through mud to try to get advice on them. Shoot as many different ones as you can and make up your mind that way!

Olympic Arms and DPMS are both quality made Ar's. Olympic even comes with a lifetime warranty. Rock River Arms (RRA) makes high quality Ar's as well that are priced right. I've heard nothing good about Vulcan Arms, and American Sprit Arms (ASA) are junk as well. 0 -
I built one up from an American Spirit Arms lower and it has not had a single hicup.

My Eagle Arms is equal in quality and accuracy to my Bushmaster except the EA barrel isn't chrome lined. I think it's a good buy. 0 -
I found a Olympic PCR-02 on GB for $500.00 and have never had a problem out of it. 0 -
ASA lowers are fine (ASA doesn't make them, they just have ASA stamped on them). ASA parts are fine, they just do a horrible job of putting them together (in other words ASA is junk). Hesse/ Vulcan= junk. Olys have a good rep except for the plinker. I've seen several JT distributing kits assembled on various lowers and the JT uppers are always good quality and well put together. RRA seems to have taken the lead in kits lately; haven't heard anything negative about their stuff yet. Eagle Arms is Armalites "Budget" line but is great stuff...... 0 -
