I have a revolver "Colt 357 Magnum", 4 " blue barrel, walnut grips and a wide hammer. Trying to find out when it was made and what the value is. Serial # is 24362.

  I have a old col.sam l colt new york u s a
  serial #107053
  also say's patented sept 10 1850
  no idea of caliber any imformation would be very helpful

  With the New York address and 1850 patent date, it sounds like a black powder revolver. The 107 thousand serial sounds like a .36 Navy possibly.
  
  With all the reproductions about, you need to lay it in the hands of an expert. Any answers given here would strictly be a shot in the dark.
