Not only this question but LOTS of others come up on a regular basis (are machineguns legal? How do I import a firearm? How do I ship a firearm? What the magazine/assault weapons restrictions are for police and civilians?) And so on and so on. One member suggested a frequently asked questions section be added to the forums and I now feel that this is a very good idea. Just how it could be done to spare Gun Broker from liability if the wrong information was provided as well as exactly who is going to be selected to write the answers to be permanently posted for the most popular questions seems to be the big issue.

For liability, always put a disclaimer up front. Who composes it? Well perhaps have two or three different authors per topic so the reader has options.

How about a forum archive indexed by common thread topics? So all of the threads that pertain to Shipping, for example, could have a section in the archive that links to all of the past threads that have been posted about that topic. That way the forum isn't saying "here is THE answer", it is merely linking to previously posted answers. Then there is no more liability incurred than any other thread that is posted here.

Although this could be a management nightmare because somebody would then have to sort each thread. I know I've seen threads that can cover multiple topics, perhaps they would get posted in multiple archive sections.

    Just a thought.
