you can change the stock set on this gun---criteria is to do so ,you must change 7 parts. all parts must be and raised lettered MADE IN U.S.A. forward handguard ,top and bottom, constitutes 1 peice. pistolgrip #2, backstock#3----you can have a american made follower made by TAPCO as #4 and then change out 3 internal parts, like hammer ,gas piston,or bolt carrier. granted there are some other internal parts that can be changed, above was just a example. when in doubt, contact BATF, and they probably wont know. as for brakes and adapters, they have to be permantly affixed. no easy on-easy off---spot weld .

i believe the answer is yes. my wasr10 hicap came with the pistol grip and normal stock. and NONE of my parts say made is usa anywhere. i just bought the gun a month ago, and the stock was clearly not original, it had no finish on it.

here is a quote from http://www.gunsnet.net/Linx310/model.htm#wasr10

You can easily convert it to a pre-ban look by ordering the Romanian blonde butt stock and a US pistol from K-VAR. This will change your parts count to 10 imported parts and 5 US parts, which is legal.

this is refering to a WASR-10 hicap type II (dragunov stock)

so i beleive that you would be fine with ordering the romanian stock and a us pistol grip.

    good luck.

i think i missed something. you cant go with a us made synthetic stock, it has to be imported. and as for the muzzle brake, your gonna have to have one welded on. personally i dont think you need one on a 7.62x39 and i think they look dumb.

Wait until the clock hits zero and do what the heck you want as long as it doesn't go full auto.
