taurus 94
I picked up a Taurus model 94 the other day in a trade deal and was wondering about shooting 22 shorts in it. I know it is marked 22lr but what would happen if i shot the shorts. Could somebody school me on the issue? Thanks

Thaks everyone for the response to my earlier question about a beginner 22 for my son. I'd like a double action anyone have thoughts on the taurus 94 pistol in 3-4 inch barrel length. I've heard the triggers are not great. How's the quality. Thanks for your help.

I've got a Model 85 that has a ecellent trigger. So you may have just gotten a bad apple, not necesarrily all the Tuarus rev. are like this. I would say shoot it, put a lot of rounds through it and I bet it lightens up.

All taurus 22 revolvers have stiff triggers to set off rimfire rounds. It can be lightened somewhat but not a whole heck of alot. A gunsmith can do this or you can try Wolff springs.I backed off from buying one of those for my son because of heavy double action pull. 0 -
A close friend of mine purchased a brand new Model 94 at auction for his wife a few years back. The double action pull was measured on my gauge at over 15 pounds and the poor woman (who is no where near petite) had a lot of trouble with the trigger pull. $75 (spent at the gunsmith) later and the pull was reduced down to about 10 pounds but was still rather gritty. The fit and finish on these Model 94s are okay, but I feel you would do better all around with the S&W.

Mine was stiff, gritty, had miles of stacking, and a crisp let-off.
I do some minor 'smithing, had some india stones and some time taking it apart & putting it back together, now it's smooth like glass, with a 6-pound pull.
If it's really that bad; send it to Taurus for fixin'. That's a LIFETIME WARRANTY on the GUN; not the owner.
Took me about 2 weeks in my spare(?) time.
