Ruger 10/22
Recently sold a new 10/22 wood stock for over 900.00. It did have a box that had 50th anniversary emblem on it. Why was this gun so hot? Was it the box or what. It looked like every other 10 22 I see.

Looking for someone that can tell me how old the gun I was just given is. It's a ruger 10/22 Carbine with a serial number that starts 113-21XXX.
If anyone can give me an answer or if they can send me in the right direction to find out i would appreciate it.

I have 2 of these. they are fun shooters right out of the box, and there are endless aftermarket accessories and parts so getting it perfect is easy. I would recommend them.

Reasonably accurate out of the box and tough as nails! The 10/22-22" sold at wally world is a real nice package. You can find 10/22s or make them into just about any flavor you like! [:D][:D]
If I melt dry ice, can I swim without getting wet?0 -
My 10/22 shoots about a one inch group at a hundred yards. Nothing done to it except a spring kit to help the trigger. It would probably do better than that if the trigger group was fixed(or replaced). 0 -

i think you should buy it . o yea , i have done nothing to mine yet . but still very accurate and very fun . o you get the free rings/bases with the gun too . or at leats i did anyways [:)]0 -
You will get the rifle and probably 1 ten rnd rotary mag. If you dont live where they are restricted, you can still buy 25 rnd Butler Creek or other "hi-cap" mags, but they will be expensive.
I have four 10-22's and love them. I have set them up for different types of shooting, but box stock they are fun little rifles. You cant go wrong buying one.

As far as out of the box, decent little plinkers go it is very hard to go wrong with a 10/22. You will hear a litany of little complaints about them but for the money most of those are unjustified as they are being compared to more expensive guns like the T/C Classic or other such more expensive semi-auto's. One analogy I'm fond of is this: In terms of high performance street rod motors, the old Mopar Hemi's are the king of the hill. However, you can build up 3 really hot GM 350 blocks AND get parts for them for the price of 1 440 Hemi. Will the 350 outpower the 440? Well, likely not. But you can't get parts for the 440 everywhere like you can a 350 and if you find parts for the Hemi it will likely cost you a heck of a lot more part for part and there are LOTS more parts made for the Bowtie blocks! In other words, the T/C is a really nice gun but you cannot get nearly so many aftermarket fun and accurizing parts for it as you can the 10/22. Go for the 10/22; you can't hardly go wrong with them!
P.S. Don't think I'm slamming old Mopar cars either...there is a 1974 Dodge Charger in my garage with 13,750 miles on it that I wouldn't trade for 3 '74 Camaro's! Nothing wrong with the Camaro's, I just love the Charger!!!

dont bother with the high caps...most of them feed very poorly, or onyl function well for a little while...other than that, they are definitly worth buying, endless tinkering!
