I need help! Like the dumb--- I am I just bought a new cdp pro and went straight to the range for a couple hundred rounds test. Went to take slide off for cleaning and quickly determined that I should have read the manual first. I am stuck with a slide with recoil spring and guide rod that I can't remove. I read (afterward) about take-down tool but too late. Any help with disassembly and reassembly greatly appreciated.

I have one of these as well and I can think of two things to do. Try puting the slide back on the frame and insert the slide stop back in the link. If you can do that, you can pull the slide back and insert the take down tool or a bent paper clip in the hole in the guide rod. It sounds like you are in the normal position you would be if you had just removed the slide from the frame. I do this to remove it and use it on a different frame. If you have strong fingers, you may be able to compress the spring on the rod far enough to get the tool in the hole. It would be best to get someone to help you by inserting the tool while you compress the spring. 0
