Tikka O/U Classic Reviews?
Hello:
A buddy of mine is looking at Tikka's O/U 12 gauge. It's called the classic, I think it is a 512? List at a local sporting goods store is $800.00. Chambered in 3 1/2". I don't have a clue, probably look at it this pm; but hoped that someone here had some hands on experience. Ran a Google search, and couldn't come up with anything on this model. Any help?

No, I held this shotgun yesterday. It's called Tikka's Classic. 3 1/2" O/U. Retail list is $800.00. It has a hood or shroud that closes over the breach, and the hood is operated by the break lever. I was not impressed. This stack gun was a little front heavy. The locking mechanism was unusual; but considering it shoots a 3 1/2" shell I would assume it would have to be strong. Made in Italy. This particular shotgun was not my cup of tea; and I said so. My buddy wants to use it to shoot sporting clays, and is looking for a step up from the $400+/- O/U's that he has been shooting. Next to the Tikka was a used Ithaca 600 (Made by SKB), now that was a nice stack gun ($500.00)! I don't need it; but it was nice. Why I go to look at shotguns for someone else, I'll never know! I probably should have asked you folks, what was the best stack gun for under $800.00?0 -
I looked at the Tikkas too. The action was way to stiff for my liking though it will probably loosen up. But the gun didn't "come to my eye" right. I got a like new red label that fit me better for only a couple of bucks more. 0 -
Hello this gun was first the VALMET 412 it is on a Remington 32/Krieghoff action. it seems a little stiff but is VERY strong and will last a lifetime . these guns have interchangeable barrel sets in double shotgun -double rifle-one rifle one shot gun . I have 5 sets of barrels for one and use for every thing .Used one barrel set for local "BENCH REST " match and did well opened some eyes. GREAT GUN 0
