Tanfoglio 9mm.
I have a Tanfoglio P19 pistol (made 1992) or Witness full size steel auto. I have not experienced any failure when shooting. When I tried to sell it I was told it was almost as cheap as a jennings or lorcin by someone I contacted to help me in doing it. Any honest opinion about Tanfoglio pistols? Thank you.

I have a Witness Compact 9 mm in the wonder finish. I have had no problems with it, nor would I compare it to a jennings or lorcin. Perhaps the "someone" that was to help you sell it wanted it for themself at a cheap price. I am not saying that IS the case, just a possibility. You can do a search of the auctions on here using "witness" as the search keyword and see Witness's of all calibers being auctioned at a variety of prices. My wife and I both like the one I have and are going ot be acquiring one in 40 S&W in the near future.

The Tanfoglio made Witness pistols are excellent value for the money. Whoever the imbecile was who compared them to the jennings or lorcins, had his head up his rectum.

Nicely made pistols, well finished and well balanced. Quite a few of the earlier Tangfoglio TZ-75 9mm pistols imported into the United States by F.I.E. Inc. seemed to have problems with failures to feed, especially with loads other than ball ammunition. Most of this was due to the very steep feed ramp angle and could be corrected with a little gunsmithing. Later pistols were imported by EAA inc. and seemed to have less of an issue with feeding problems (I am not sure why). Later EAA began to market the TZ-75 as the Witness and these pistols seemed to feed and fire all types of ammunition without difficulty. I always felt however that the newer Witness branded pistols lacked the same level of fit and finish quality as the older TZ-75 pistols...maybe it was my imagination?

I think I agree with Rufe-Snow on this one, but will refrain from going to the same degree of comment...aw what the hell, I agree totally! Whoever that was I hope you don't consider them a friend as they are obviiously not very experienced or they are indeed out to rip you off! The Tanfoglio Brothers have always and still do make nice guns for the money. Comparing their work to Lorcin is about like saying a Porshe is just a rebadged VW! Actually, that does dis-service to the VW marque as they make fine autos and the Lorcins and Brycos are really good to use as fishing weights! Not a thing in the world wrong with the Witness guns and I would be happy to own virtually anything they ever made!!

I dont have any experience with the 9mm version, but I do have the 10mm. This gun was very accurate right out of the box, and the trigger was excellent. It has become one of my favorite handguns. I can't compare the Tanfoglio to the other brands mentioned in your post, because I have never handled either of them. The Tan that I own is of very good quality. I am picking up a CZ 85 today, and I hope that it is copareable in quality to the Tanfoglio. 0 -
I've had a BTA 90 for about 10 years. It is a very well made, nice looking gun that functions flawlessly. No negative opinion here.

Tanfoglio made a couple small pistols in .32 and .380, as well as a single action 22 revolver. They were okay, and cheap, and some people see cheap and assume quality is cheap too. My local shop has one of the .32's at $150 and can't sell it. Listen to the people here. In fact, get a picture and auction it here. Good luck.

It is a very good hand gun. Out sells all others in Europe in the Lwa Enforcement and Military field. I have one in 9mm and 10mm and would not give it up. Who ever told you this does not have an understanding of the gun or is trying to pull the wool over your eyes. My 2 cents [8D]
