Savage 775 12 ga. semi-auto shotgun
I picked one of these up last week. It'a a 12 guage with a 28" barrel. The receiver looks like aluminum. Any of you own one? If so, what can you tell me about it? I'm especially interested in its age and how you like it. I haven't shot mine yet. Thanks.

Four Different Models of 775 were produced...Will assume because of the referance to a possible aluminum Reciever that You have a Model 775 Lightweight...Made from 1950 to 1965...Just an average Auto Loader...No Great Collectability attached...Only worth $250.00 in Excellent Condition....
The whole Series of 775 are only bringing the same value...in Like Condition......best.....

THESE ARE BASICLY A MODERNISED BROWNING A-5, LONG RECOIL OPERATED SHOTGUN. LIKE THE CAPT. SAID THEY ARE NOT WORTH A HOLE LOT BUT THEY ARE A GOOD USABLE SHOTGUN. the one shining light of this gun design was they perfected losing the hump and designed it so the stock went up to meet the top of the receiver. it prettied things up. 0 -
The one I found is in very good-excellent condition. I was able to buy it for $149; cheap enough to take a chance on. Thanks for your recommendations on loads and other information. I'll stick to AA target ammo. Mostly it's just an addition to my collection and will seldom be fired. Will Remington Model 11 parts (barrels)interchange with this model? I plan to shoot it tomorrow along with a 1963 Rem. 870 16 guage I bought this week. I found some ammo at my local Wal-mart. They had a total of 2 boxes and it cost twice what 12 guage sells for. Anyway, I'm happy to have finally found a nice 16 guage. 0 -
no other parts will interchange on this model, gun parts has some parts on hand. i started shooting trap with one of these (steel frame) and did well with it for several years. 0
