I'm looking for a conversion chart to download and print.
I want to convert millimeters to calibers and visa-a-versa.
What does 9mm convert to? 30cal?

9mm=.355. / .38 cal = .357 / go figure. It gets way too convoluted to answere here so I hope someone has the formula for you or a link to a conversion site!

Multiply the decimal value .308 times 25.4 which equals 7.62 mm.

Divide the mm value 7.62 by 25.4 equals .308.

Remember these are the same measurement just expressed in english and metric values.

1 inch equals 25.4 mm. That is where I got the 25.4 number.

    Thanks

Well......in would be nice if you could actually do an accurate conversion. However, there are calibers, and there are calibers.

    For instance, 30 caliber should be .300....but actually, it's .308. And 303 British should be .303...but it's actually .312.

Various 38 calibers can range from .355 to .401

    And....while 9mm Parabellum (or 9mm Luger, or 9x19mm) is .355, 9mm Short (or Kurz/.380 Auto/9x17mm) .356, and 9mm Makarov (9x18mm) is .363.

    8x51mm Mauser is .316, but 8x57mmJS Mauser is .323.

And.....if you're not confused now, you obviously don't understand the situation.....and we haven't even touched on secondary designators like .30-06, .250-3000, .38-40, etc.

Best thing....buy "Cartridges of the World". It's got all sorts of tables giving the actual dimensions of almost every cartridge out there.
