Ruger 10/22?

Hi-
I recently visited a gun shop in the Atlanta, GA. area and came across an unusual Ruger model 10/22 carbine. It was stainless with a red and gray laminated stock. That's right, RED and gray. Very striking and unusual in appearance. The salesperson said it came from Ruger that way. Anyone out there know anything about these guns? Promotion item? Special order?

    Anyone tried those Ramline takedown kits for the Ruger 10/22? How do they install and do they work well?

    it very well could be a promotional gun or a special edition. i have not heard anything announced. but in the late 90s ruger made a 10-22 with black and gray laminated stock with stainles guns only for wal-mart. it was a big seller nation-wide. did you notice if it had a black sling with ruger embroidered on it in red? how did the dealer have it priced? wal-mart priced theirs at $164.00 but that was a long ago and is no reflection what this gun you saw is worth today!!!!

    A friend had a Ruger 10/22 with a tan and blonde stock. He bought the stock after market so it is possible that maybe the rifle is used.

    Ruger made many variations for highend retailers and distributors such as Wal-Mart or Davidsons.While very interesting, they do not bring exceptionallly high prices.

    THIS 10/22 RED/GRAY WAS SPECIAL ORDER FOR A RUGER DIST LAST YEAR. GREAT COLOR.

    I WOULD RATHER BE DUCK HUNTING.

    Thanks for the info. I think these were priced around $250.00 or so. I don't really remember. Just remember the striking appearance. Really jumps out at you!! Gotta be a story behind these!!

    Is this the type of 1022 you are talking about ? I got this right here at GB at the beginning of March ?

    No it didn't look anything like that gun. This gun was stainless and the stock was much brighter red. Had a VERY striking appearance. The contrast between the colors was much more evident. Like I said before, when you walk into the store, it just reaches out and grabs you from all the way in the back!!! I'll be back in the Atlanta area in a few weeks and I'm going to see if it's still there. The more I think about it the "curiouser" I get!!! It's a disease.
