Estimated Value/DOM Ruger Standard 22
Ruger Standard Pistol, 4 3/4" in a red box, w/ marketing card, and instructions for Mark I Target and Standard Model. Serial # 14-152XX. The grip appears as if the emblem may have been red but worn off. Bluing is excellent, which does not jive with the medallion being worn. Box has some discoloration and a couple of dings, but is in pretty fair shape. Box dated January 1973, instructions have a code on the bottom, A3/30/5-76.

S/N tracks to 1977 so I would guess you have a mix of things w/ box being of one age and the instruction sheet being of another, and the pistol another.
The medalion color was changed after Alex Strum's death in 1951 so your pistols stock grips would not have had the red medalion.
If you only have time to do two things so-so, or one thing well ... do the one thing!0 -
Thanks for the date on the pistol. It seems to me Ruger might still have been using boxes designed in 73 four years later. I guess I wasn't clear about that, the date is inside the lid and follows a long list of patent numbers.
