What shotgun to buy?

I'm looking to spend about $200-300 for a new shotgun. Any opinions out there as to what I should purchase? Also, I am still deciding as to whether or not it would be a semi or pump. Any help would be appreciate. Thanks

  The shotgun will mainly be for defense and recreational purposes, 12 gauge. Any opinions on the Charles Daly Semi's?

  for a combo shotgun, you might want to look at a mossberg 500, just change the barrels and it is ready for either needs.

  Remington 12ga. 870 SPT ( Special purpose Turkey ) 2 3/4 or 3"
  this shotgun comes with black synthetic monte carlo stock , 21" smooth bore barrel that has the Rem chokes ,it comes with a extra full trukey choke tube but you can use any of the rem chokes in it , if you want to shoot slugs you can put in a rifled tube , use any of the more open choke tubes for field use , fully adjustable tru-glo sights, takes any of the many 870 barrels , great gun for just over $300

  For home defense I have a Mossy 590 12 ga and my wife a 500 410. Both with pistol grip only.

  If you go with the Rem 870 you can get a police length, 18/19", from Cabella's for under $100

  Pump guns are less expensive than semi-auto's. The Remington 870's are built to last (I'm shooting one that I've had for over 25 years) and I also own a Mossberg 500. Both are good, dependable shotguns.
