    kinda look like the pos ak's they have at the local gun shop, the dust cover doesn't even fit on them correctly, may be a totally different gun but that front grip sure looks familiar.

    a us made ak. if you believe a euro ak has any probs, then spend the money on an american. i personally believe you can't really mess up building an ak, and a cheap one will shoot just as good. then again, i bought a hyundai 6 years ago and it lasted 30,000 miles. i make bad descisions. cody

    You might want to make sure that they can accept double stack mags. Those guns look like they only have 10 round mags. Maybe it doesn't matter to you, but I would want an AK that could take the 30 round mags. Just my .02

    i have had a lot of customers that have had the bulgarian sa-93 and the slr-95 and love them. i also have a slr-95 and have had no problems at all. great quality. arsenal, the importer had great sucess with these two guns and that is what brought about the creation of the american m-7. i think they want people to beleive it is the same quality firearm. but it is way off. the same customers that own the bulgarians have also purchased the m-7 and have all traded or sold them. not nearly the quality they expected, by my customers opinions.

    If you want a MILLED receiver ak, then go with the SAM-7. If you wait a couple of months, Arsenal Inc is going to have a line of more afforadable stamped receiver models including an ak-74. I compared the SAM-7 to a VEPR II. I bought the VEPR and the hype about the accuracy and quality is not hype. It's basically an RPK that has a slightly shorter barrel and different furniture to make it look less military and importable as a "hunting" rifle. It is Russian made.

    Those are nice guns, are they better than the Romanians? IMHO no. They do have a nicer finish on them but I got a chance to shoot my Romanian next one of those Bulgarians on an indoor range at 25 yards my Romanian AKM (M=Modern stamped receiver) was just as accurate as the Bulgarian AK (Milled Receiver).

    I wouldn't mind one of those in 5.45x39 but doesn't look like anyone has them anymore.

    You appear to have some pretty good AK knowledge. Are you saying I should just get a Romanian??? They are considerably cheaper. And I could just buy more ammo I guess.

    i think my romanian is just as good as any ak ive shot or seen. and it only cost 330. for info about romanian aks go to http://www.gunsnet.net/Linx310/index.shtml

    That's up to you, after shooting both I can't say one is better than the other, however the finish on the Bulgies are much nicer than the Romanians. For the money you save on a Romanian vs. a Bulgy, you can buy lots of mags and ammo. However, you may want to try to find a 2003 serial numbered SAR1 instead of the WASR10's that are all over the place now. The WASR10 hicaps are ok but from everything I've read they need the rear of the mag well to filed out a little more to get mags to fit.

    I just got a little B-Day money that is burning a hole in my bank account and have been tempted to go get one of those dang WASR10's just for the heck of it. My SAR1 is telling me that it is lonely in my safe.

    Then just this afternoon, I was just drooling over a long barreled Maddii(sp) at a local shop. Price was $450, I'm tempted. Thinking I could put some RDK stocks on it and make it look really cool.

    You can't just have one AK!

    i have heard that the WASR-10s do have problems with the mag well. this is because century arms imports these things as single stack only, and then converts them to accept double stack magazines, sometimes, the work does not get finished on the mag well and two little burrs get left behind. however, this was not an issue with my WASR-10 and if it is an issue for you, i suggest going to http://www.gunsnet.net/Linx310/index.shtml
