Sig P226 40 S&W
OK, I went back about 500 posts to make sure I wasn't asking a question someone else had asked recently.
My younger brother just purchased a Sig P226 40, because he had a bunch of .40 cal ammo left over from his sheriff deputy days, and wanted to use it up. He has just been hired to work part time with a local small town police department and will carry the Sig on duty. The gun came with 10 rnd mags, but he wants some high cap mags. Since I live in a bigger town than him, he asked me to see if I could find some for him. LE only mags would not be a problem, but I can't seem to find any. Did Sig or anyone ever make mags with greater than 10 rnd capacity? Even in the auctions, I can only find 9mm hi-cap mags, not .40 cal. The Sig website does not even mention if there were ever any in existance. Granted I have not done a major exhaustive search[:I], but rather trust to the aggregate knowledge of the gun lovers on this site.

All new Sigs have 10 round mags but law enforcement can get higher capacity mags. You could probably get high capacity mags from the factory if you have a law enforcement ID. High capacity postban mags are illegal for civilian use and thats why you probably can't find and for sale. Preban high capacity mags are still widely available for many guns. 0 -
SIG's .40 S&W LEO mags hold 12 rds. 0 -
The LE mags you need will have to be ordered direct from SIG or from a LE distributor in your area. You will need a letterhead signed by the Chief, Sheriff or other commander, authorizing the purchase.
They are not expensive, about $35 each if memory serves.
