`03 SPRINGFIELD / safe to shoot???

U.S. ROCK ISLAND ARSENAL MODEL 1903 318514
its a custom sporter, and its a 95% gun, done right. custom trigger, drilled and tapped, custom BISHOP stock, high blue finish, etc...
my concern is wether this reciever has had proper heat treatment, or wether its one of the "bad" guns.

i want this piece, but i thought i would gather some opinions here.
i envision it topped of with my UNERTL 10X long tube target scope, being used at FORT DIX RANGE 14 at 600 yds.

    While there is considerable debate about just how dangerous the low numbered receivers are, the cutoff number after which the receivers at RIA were considered high numbered is 285507. Your rifle is well into the range of high numbers and safe to fire assuming there are no headspace problems or history of abuse (being in a fire, etc.) that damaged the receiver.

    I have never encountered any problems with these recievers. I have a customized 30-06 and have fires a 35 whelen, specialty with a bull barrel..Most of the pressure is on the walls of the barrel. The question is..how good is the chamber?

    I hope this does not appear to be a stupid question, but I have a U.S. Remington model 03-A3, serial number 4,005,XXX. It is in mint condition and I have thought about using the action for making a custom rifle. Are the Remington receivers considered safe? Please have a great day! tejaswrangler [:)]

    The Remington produced 1903's and all 1903A3's are "high numbered" and do not have the potential for receiver failure that exists in the single heat treated receivers.
