What is "SS Colt?"
Assuming it has a normal dovetail with a drift-adjustable rear sight, try this:
Remove the sight from the dovetail. Take a gentleman punch and mallet and work the horizontal bed of the dovetail, raising little irregularities in the surface with your punch.
You can also GENTLY peen the top edges of the dovetail downward, just a little.
Try for fit and readjust as necessary.
If the above methods don't work, you can always slap some JB Weld on the dovetail, but after that, there will be no adjustment.
If your gun is a Series '80 or later, the rear sight also holds in a spring and plunger that bears on the trigger bar. It is part of a passive safety. Be careful not to launch the spring and plunger when removing the sight.
