Illegal to bring back Norinco M305??
I will be visiting friends in Canada next month and one person has a Norinco M-305 (M14 copy) that he is willing to sell. These rifles are available for sale from Marstar for $399. Canadian but they state they cannot sell to US buyers.
Is it illegal for me to return to the US with a Norinco rifle that is a personal purchase?
Should I contact ATF for a ruling or will they even respond?

Listen to Mr. Christian...His knowledge is second to none that I am aware of! I would not expect the ban to be off any time soon either. At any rate I have heard scary things as regards the Chinese M-14 copies with their poor metalurgy etc...Be very wary!!!
