Is There A Downside To The Springfield SAR-8?

The only SAR-8 rifles to avoid are those with the aluminum receiver...VERY trouble prone. Otherwise these rifles are licensed copies made on HK tooling with HK technical assistance given to Helenic Arms of Greece. These rifles are not clones, they are the real thing, although produced in another factory outside of Germany. I was an authorized HK law enforcement dealer for many years and I happen to have an SAR-8 in my own HK collection simply because they are well made rifles and perfectly reliable. In most cases the SAR muzzel is treaded and a fake flashhidder is fitted and secured more or less permanently (although it can be removed with a lot of work it is not legal to do so).

Thanks, your input is always appreciated!!

If price were the same, would you take a three pin MARS Import Cetme or a SAR-8? Decisons, decisions.

    Them ducks is wary.
