Walther P-99 in .40 S&W
Any of you guys have one of these, what do you think of it? Pleased, yes or no? I was thinking of buying one; with the smallest grip back it fits my hand really nice- any comments?

Thank you. It is the only (mag butt fed) auto I have tried that fits my hand and I am comfortable with. The decocker is a trivial issue to me. Reliable and how it comes to point on target are the only things I am concerned with.

After many months of looking, and trying out just about everything in all the shops that we went to, my wife decided on the P-99. Like you, it "fit" her hand. While she can shoot my full size handguns (and well I might add) they were too big for her hand. We were looking for something that she was "comfortable" with. Which is very important in my opinion.
It has a natural point of aim. Enough mass to handle the 40 caliber well. We both like where the mag release is, same place as on my H&K. No external hammer to catch on anything when being drawn. Good size for carrying.
I do not see the other post, but I take it that someone said something about the de-cocker. That is the only thing that is a little "weird" about this one.
When she took it to the range for the FIRST time, on her second mag she put all but one in the black. I "borrow" it from her sometimes when I want to CC something a little smaller. I know 2 other people that want to get one, now that they have learned about them. I don't think you will be sorry if you get one.

Thanks, I appreciate the input. Like buying a truck or anything else it is always wise to ask other people what their experience is. This is the only modern auto in a caliber that I would feel comfortable with that fits me well. I had a Glock 17 and one of the .45 compacts and they were both way too big for me in the handle. A Colt SAA fits me really well also.

I have a P99 Military in 9MM. It is my favorite auto pistol. Great handling and ergonomics.

Thanks for the input guys. I figure I will get the green frame one in .40 S&W. Hey, if they picked the P-99 as the "next generation" James Bond gun, I figure it can't be all bad!

I have the SW99 in both .40cal compact and the fullsize .45 acp. I love them both. They are great to shoot and the compact is easily concealable to carry. I would recommend them to anyone!
