Disassemble CZ40P

I have a new CZ40P handgun.I am unable to remove the slide stop.I have carefully followed the directions given in the manual.I have had other CZ 75's and if I recall correctly it was very difficult to remove the slide stop the first time.
This one is very tough and I do not want to mar the gun by beating on the stop.Any suggestions would be appreciated. Thanks.
