Use a small jewelers screwdriver to tension the plunger that functions the extractor. Puting tension on the plunger compresses the spring that is behind it. This SHOULD enable you to remove the extractor, ( if the bolt hasn't been cleaned, sometimes there full of crud and don't want to come out ).

CAREFULLY release the pressure on the jewelers screwdriver. If your not carefull the plunger and spring will fly out, and you'll lose them[:(]

If i remember correctly, you will have to remove the cross pin that holds the firing pin in the bolt.If you don't the extractor plunger will not go back far enough to remove the extractor from the bolt.Be sure to replace the cross pin as it controls the movement of the firing pin.It the cross pin is not reinstalled, the firing pin will hit the edge of the barrel, leaving a dent in it.

EVILDR235 is right. In my previous post, I didn't say that the bolt had to be stripped, prior to removal of extractor assembly.
