EAA IZH MP221 dbl rifle opinion

Does anyone have any experience with these rifles? I am considering one in 45-70 caliber and was wondering if it would be up to firing some of the hotter +P loads available for the caliber. Thanks for any help.

    No one wants to ad mit owning one? Iwould like info on IZH 94 O/U 223. I have seen the comboRifle 12over 7X57mm. no other. Regards

    I can't speak about the double rifle, but I can attest to their O/U line of shotguns. IF the quality in their rifles is as good as in my Baikal 12 gauge, then it should be a pretty good rifle.

    Where do you live? Perhaps I know of some folks that can answer your questions.

    to John,I live in south Texas. I would like to re-chamber 223 to 5.34x39 or 22-250. the twist might not be right for hoter speed?

    If you mean 5.45x39, it won't work unless you somehow find a bore liner for 5.45. .223 is 5.56. The 5.45x39 case is also smaller, shorter. I suppose it could be done, but the expense, trouble ect. wouldn't be worth it.
    I suppose .22-250 might be done, but this is a bigger diameter (thus more powder/pressure) and you may end up with too thin a chamber area to sustain full loads safely. Also the extractors/ejectors would have to be opened up accordingly. I don't see much point to this as it would not be a gun that would lend itself to long range precision, i.e. scope mounting, nor would you be able to regulate the barrels point of impact enough.

    This rifle has not been able to clear Russian customs as of yet. No deliveries will be made until July or August, I've been told. I have a 308/12 gauge combination gun that performs very well. I had a SXS double shotgun that was not very good. Workmanship was alright but it was not a good upland game shooter. I would like to try a .45-70 myself but we have to wait.

    Alleycat your right is it worth it. The peralex is the question? as to 5.45 I was told it was5.56 or 223. Lust is the problem, with a 6mm Rem. & 6.5 Rem mag. Do you realy need another around the house. O-well, back to the CZ52 & necking down this 7.62x28mm to 5.56X28mm, the 6mm workedjust a littel bit, we'll have it. regards capt md
