What is this gun???
It is an old double barrel shot gun, side by side, circa 1850-1900. It possibly has the letters N.P. Davis Sons on either side. that is the only marking that are visible. any ideas??

Could that possibly by N. R. Davis? If so they merged with Crescent to become Crescent-Davis just before Stevens bought out the company in 1932. Just a guess. 0 -
N.R DAVIS&SONS,Was formed in 1853byNATHAN RUSSELL DAVIS,who interestly had 4 daughters no sons,They made a decent utility grade hammer and hammerless shotguns bearing his name and many many others for Sears and many hardware stores. In 1917 merged with Warner Arms becomming Davis-Warner Arms, became inactive about 1921they again merged with CresentArms ,then soon after bought out by Stevens Arms. Hope this helps some,PAUL

Do Me a favor...Breakdown the Barrels and see if there might Be a Belguim Proof Mark under the Breech End of the Barrels.....Seems to me that I saw an Old Double barrel Shotgun with N.P. Davis..It was a Belguim KNOCKDOWN...Capitolizing on the Davis Name...Sold in Hardware Stores and Mail Order Houses...The name was close enough to catch the unwary.....Its possible that You have one of these guns...?
