BSA Model 13 Martini .22 Long Rifle
Will appreciate some info regarding a recent purchase namely a Birmingham Small Arms Model 13 Martini 220 Long Rifle. The rifle and bore seem to be in very good condition. What degree of accuracy might I expect from the rifle? Is information available on servicing this rifle? Any help you knowledgeable gentlemen may be willing to share will be appreciated. My reference notes that your rifle is a older model made between the First & Second World Wars.
As BSA went out of business in 1986, spare parts and information re "servicing", might be an issue.

These are generally considered to be fine old arms and are capable of pretty outstanding accuracy. I believe they are still quite popular in Australia and spare parts may be available from "Down Under". You did not mention; are there any odd or unknown markings on the gun? Many were used as club guns and target rifles and that might shed some insight as to what exactly you have.

I have never owned a martini but have been on the receiving end of a thrashing by them .22 bench rest matches. A beautiful young woman in our gun club would come to those shoots and when she showed up you knew you were going to have to shoot 50 shots in the X-ring just to compete. Both she and the rifle were great lookers and shooters. I wish I had one. 0 -
GREAT RIFLE, GUNPARTS CORP. HAS A FEW PARTS. THEY USUALY DON'T NEED MUCH SERVICING AS THEY ONLY HAVE 5 OR 6 MOVING PARTS. A LOT HAVE BEEN RELINED BUT THEY SHOOT JUST AS WELL (CHECK THE MUZZEL, IF IT HAS SOME LETTERING IT HAS BEEN RELINED). 0
