Python DOM

I know this question has been asked a zillion times but anyone know the appx. DOM on a Python with s.n. K30xxx?

    I just purchased a blue 4"bbl Colt Python. It appears to have never been fired but does display a slight turn ring. Can DOM be determined by ser #? 39574E, Is this considered a 2nd or 3rd generation gun?. It is in a Colt hard plastic blue box, is this correct? And finally, I walked out the door with it for $900 cash.
    I forgot to add that it has Pachmayr grips with Colt emblems, but I do not believe these to be original to the gun. Were any Pythons shipped with these grips?

    I would hazard a guess at 1980. I have two "K" series 8 inch Pythons and they are from 1980. There are Colt experts on the forum that can probably be more accurate, although most that I have talked with say it is hard to date after around 1978 because there are no records. If you call Colt, I think they will charge you $25.00.

    manderson's close enough....K30XXX i=was produced in 1981. Most everyone uses a Wilson chart. They go to about 1985. After that??

    I have a 3" blue unfired with the hang tag ser. K01*** which was made in 80 I think, find yourself one of the little wilson pocket books but you'll have to add to it, like Tomh said they only go to about 1985.
