This is General Forum, but before it gets moved, the DOUBLE EAGLE ANY DAY because it is a genuine USSOCOM developed weapon. Anyone who has taken one apart will love it forever. The DA2090 and the DA2095 were built to last several lifetimes or a few wars, take your pick.

The double action could have been cleaned up a bit, and the single action on my D.E. indicated a trigger job was wanting.

But as we know, the Elite is the accurate one. The fancy one.

But if you want a genuine combat handgun, it's the Double Eagle all the way.

Hard to guess which model would be closest to the Elite todqay. The XSE Series?

Still, from the serrated combat hammer to the absent safety, it's the D.E. for Me!

I personnaly would prefer the Delta. The Double Eagle IS likely the purest combat hangun but chances are good few of us will really use it in combat! I never liked the trigger pull on my Double Eagle and that was the excuse for selling it...and yes, I DO regret selling it especially for what I got for it!! A lot of people never caught on to the Double Eagle anyway as its lines in my opinion were not pure Colt 1911, and were really never intended to be for that matter. Who know which will be the most collectible in the long haul?!?! My WAG would be the Double Eagle in aout 20 years as they didn't make too awful many!

As 1kyd pointed out, less Double Eagles were made so it'll likely have more collector value later, but there are a lot of SA auto Colt fans out there too.
It all boils down to whether YOU want a DA or a SA pistol. I have 10mm's that are striker fired (Glocks), Single-action (Kimber 1911 style), and DA/SA (S&W) and out of all those I shoot the single-action the best, but the striker-fired Glocks are what I choose for ALL of my defense roles.
You can't go wrong with a 10mm, so choose your trigger type and enjoy it. [:)]

ATF, then it sounds like you're a candidate for the Double Eagle or one of the many other fine 10's. Glad you're a member of the 10 club! [8D]

I would love to have a Colt in 10mm. I also would like to try out a Kember. I have a S&W 610 revolver. I also have a Para Ordnance P-16 converted to 10mm. I love the round.
