Colt Cobra 1st issue .38 spl. 2'' bbl

This Colt has square butt with smooth walnut grips/colt medallion, alloy frame, etc. Need to know date of manuf. (Ser# B79586) I realize these were made between 1950-'72. I don't have access to Wilson's book. How can I find colt dates on the internet?

  B79856 is a 1971 model. I don't know where these numbers are online. I have the book. Lots of great photos. Mine's falling apart from using it like a wish book!

  Thanks very much....the infamous Blue Book says the early 1st. mod. are sq. butt...later switched to round. First issues prod. between 1950-1972! Guess round butt was produced after 1971.
