Is it legal to ship handgun parts to Canada ?

I am not talking about frames, just things like barrels or hammers.

Understand their Firearms laws are relly strict so thought I would ask before making a sale.

    You might have Canadian Customs open the package before clearing it for delivery-- no big deal.Several tips- always use USPS-- NEVER UPS to ship to Canada.UPS charges an arm and a leg for cross-border delivery. They like to tack on a hefty surcharge which the buyer must pay to them before they release the goods.On the green customs label that you get at the post office list the contents as "machined parts"-- DO NOT mention FIREARM or GUN parts !! Handgun barrels under 4 inches are now illegal in Canada so if shipping those they could be returned to you.( or worse still confiscated ) I don't see any problem sending triggers, hammers, etc.I have had no difficulty receiving "machined parts" from the US. Hope this helps.

    I believe the US goverment now requires an export license for the export of any one of the following (not just serial numbered receivers): frames, barrels, cylinders, receivers, and complete breech mechanisms. The exportation of certain parts, such as barrels, cylinders, and machined breech mechanisms is now prohibited.

    Many thanks to rfo1 and boeboe.
    Believe that I will not take a chance on breaking any laws.

    It is really great to have access to a board like GB. Someone always has the right answer.

    Just so you both will know, what I wanted to do was as follows:

    Some time back, years ago, I aquired a 45 acp 1911 type with a number of other guns and stuff.

    The frame was made from two pieces that had been welded together.

    I never intended to fire it but thought I might have a use for the parts.

    Recently decided to sell everything but the frame and listed it on auction as such.

    An inquiry from Canada just needed more explanation about what I could legally do as a seller.
