Colt problem, Please Help.

I have a Anaconda, When I shoot it and try to shoot again the hammer stop's about a 3rd of the way back, single or double action, all I have to do is touch the cyl. and it will go on through. It hanges up only after I SHOOT it. I can cock it all day long with empty cly. or loaded cly. and No Jam. Only after I shoot it does it hang up. It's driving me NUT'S. Any body else have this problem????????

    Appears you have a mechanical problem that is precipitated by the recoil/shock of firing the revolver. From your comment about only having to lightly touch the cylinder it sounds as if the timing is being thrown off. Take the pistol to your local gunsmith as continued use, etc., may just cause the problem to be worse. Another option is to send the revolver to Colt but your going to be out a chunk of change for the shipping ... an amount that probably would be what a local "smith" would charge. Check out both alternatives and go with the one that your the most comfortable with.

    My guess is that the hand spring is weak allowing the hand to bounce out of proper engagement with the ratchet.
    Open the gun up and have a look.

    V35, You may be Right, Will try to contact Colt, and order a new spring and HAND If they are still in Business. In the mean time I will try streching the spring out. Whatda you think???????

    Stretching spring might be a workable short term fix, but if the spring is the problem something caused that problem, maybe a defect in the spring????

    Try and just replace the handspring. A new hand will probably have to be fitted.

    OK Chuck. I'm curious and a couple of the others probably are too. What did you find was causing your problem?

    The Problem was of all thing's, Lead build up on Barrel (forcing cone) I had used a brass brush on it when cleaning, But it did not get the lead off, when I checked the Cly. gap it was about one and a half thousands, Took a small stone and stoned the face of the forcing cone and that took all the lead off, got about 6 thousand gap now and it works great. dont know why I didnt check that first. The pistol is stainless steel and the lead is the same color, and my eyes aint the greatest any more.
