    I am looking for anyone that does work on Polytech M14S. All i want is to put a heavy barrel on it, and whatever that intels(convert to a USGI bolt?). If you have any great referances, please pass them on. I am a member of the m14 firing line, and warbird is backup, so that is why i am asking around.

    palladin21;
    your request for a 1/2 x 32 tap & die may be a 12-32,
    the first # (1/2) being the bolt stock dia.
    the second # (32) is the number of threads per inch.

    I do not know of any tooling avalible for such a fine thread in 1/2 in. dia.

    for machine screws, #6 is 1/8 (.125) dia.
    #8 is 5/32 (.156) dia.
    #10 is 3/16 (.187) dia.
    #12 is 7/32 (.218) dia. - a #12 machine screw is generally considered a "special" & is commonly used as an oversize repair "fix" for a stripped #10 hole.
    32 threads per inch is commonly avalible in all machine screw sizes stated. I hope this helps identify the tooling you need.

    Rigth on cussedemgun! I did a little research after reading the post, and I could not find any listing of a 1/2 #32 thread pitch! Just has never been made, so more than likely you are right on with the 12-32size and pitch.
    If it works out to be out there, I would love to hear about it!

    Yes, this tap is made in several thread sizes: 1/2 x 11, 12, 14, 16, 18, 24, 27, 28, 30, 32, 40, 48, + 56 threads per inch.

    As BT99 says, - call MSC

    Also, #5 machine screw is .125.
    #6 is .138
